INDIA - THE HIMALAYAS
Russian paraglider 'Paravoffka' has had a lucky escape after hitting an eagle while soaring over the Bir Billing region of the Himalayas.
Paravoffka collided with the bird during his first flight on a trip to India. With the bird caught in his rigging, his parachute folded up and he began to plummet to earth.
Luckily Paravoffka was able to open his reserve parachute to slow his descent, making a relatively soft landing in the forest below.

The paraglider and bird were left unharmed.
