Tour de France Tractor Ballet

FRANCE - Tour de France cycling

The French are renowned for their strikes, arrogance and laissez-faire attitude.

That said, French farmers saw this year's Tour de France as the perfect opportunity to show another side of the French.

This 'tractor ballet' was created by farmers who carved the shape of a racing bike into a field of wheat. They then drove 24 tractors around in two perfect circles to create the illusion that the bike's wheels were going round as the peloton shot by on the third stage of the race.

The farmers also wrote a message into the wheat that roughly translated means: "The farmers of 44 are proud to feed you" with the '44' a reference to the local Loire-Atlantique French administrative department.

About World Sport Bloopers

World Sport Bloopers was created following the frustration of using video sites. Many offered videos that were filed under 'funny' or 'humor' but were not specific to sport. It required a lot of searching to find what we wanted. Even when you found the video, it was often edited poorly or inserted in a news segment so it had less impact.

World Sport Bloopers is inspired by UK shows like Fantasy Football (hosted by comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner), the eccentric Frenchman Remi Gaillard and US shows like Jackass. We aim to bring you the best bloopers, fails and WTF moments. We hope you enjoy the site!!
